Dear Delegates,

Welcome to Harvard Model Congress Latin America! Our names are Gavin Sullivan and Ryan O'Meara, and we'll be chairing the Press Corps/Media Committee at this year's conference. We are excited to get to know you over our time together in Sao Paulo.

First, a little about each of us. I’m Gavin and am currently a rising senior at Harvard studying History with a secondary field in Economics. Outside of my work with HMC, I'm a huge political junkie and have loved watching the 2016 US Presidential Elections play out. When I'm not reading about politics I enjoy writing about it—I've worked on the Harvard Political Review since my freshman year. In my free time I enjoy going for runs and binge watching The Office and Parks and Recreation.

I’m Ryan and I’m a rising junior at Harvard from Dallas, Texas, studying Economics with a secondary field in Government. Outside of HMC, I am editorial chair of The Harvard Crimson, so I’m excited to work with you on covering breaking news from the conference. If the news from the conference is half as exciting as the news from the 2016 US Presidential Election, we’re in for a wild ride. In my free time, I love playing golf and watching Texas Rangers baseball.

You've chosen a great committee with HMC Press Corps. Over the course of the conference, you'll work in a fast-paced environment as you chase down breaking news from the latest developments in the Presidential Cabinet to new resolutions emerging from the WHO. Indeed Media is unique in that you'll have a chance to interact with many different parts of the conference, not just your own committee. Whether you're an experienced student journalist or completely new to the reporting experience, you'll get to sharpen your skills (and build new ones) during our time together.

Please be in touch with any questions you have before August. We look forward to meeting you soon!
